Milan won´t be sold overseas, says Galliani

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has denied the club will be bought by foreign investors and has backed head coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Galliani has dismissed rumours that Russian or Qatari investors have made a bid to buy the Serie A powerhouse and argued current owner Silvio Berlusconi is the right man for the club as he took them to the top of the world , referring to their Club World Cup victory in 2007.

But despite his comments, Galliani claimed foreign ownership could be positive for Serie A clubs.

Foreign investors can be a good thing for Italian football but they are not coming to Milan, Galliani told Sky Sport 24.

There has been talk that a group of Arabs were interested but it s not true.

We want to keep president Berlusconi, who took us to the top of the world.

AC Milan are 11th on the Serie A table ahead of Saturday s trip to Lazio having won just two of their first seven games this season.

The poor start has prompted criticism of Allegri, while there have been rumours former Barcelona head coach Pep Guardiola has met with AC Milan to take over.

But Galliani has again thrown his support behind Allegri, claiming AC Milan will recover under the 45-year-old head coach.

We are sure to come back with our current coach, Galliani said.

We have enjoyed great success under Allegri since his arrival in 2010.

We have never thought about replacing him.

We have absolute confidence in him, a coach who has gained 162 points in two years, which is some achievement.
